Reasons for Airport Security

Hello,

This week we are opening a new topic- Airport Security and will try to answer the question WHY IS AIRPORT SECURITY IMPORTANT IN GENERAL AND ESPECIALLY NOWADAYS?

In the meantime, can you please take a few seconds to do the poll and vote on what you consider the most important when you travel by air? Please, do not choose more than 2 answers. The voting closes tomorrow.

Airport Security

Airports and aircraft are attractive targets for terrorism and other acts of crime. Large number of people pass through airports, which means that there is a high concentration of people in a small area. At the same time large aircraft such as Airbus A380 can carry more than 500 people on board, so any attempt to blow up a plane has the potential to produce a high mortality rate.

On the other hand, incidents involving aircraft attract huge media interest, which can be used by terrorists to create fear. A hijacked plane is a 'flying bomb', explosive devices can be hidden in checked luggage causing the death of hundreds of innocent civilians.

Task 3: The importance of security

In the airport, passengers go through security after checking-in. security refers to methods and techniques to protect the country, passengers, and airport personnel from any sort of attack. In my opinion, a security is a significant procedure in traveler processing. First, it will be convenient for the government to control the movement of harmful goods such as weapons and bombs. Thus, the airport will not be an attractive target for terrorists and aircraft will not be hijacked by any organization. Another thing to mention is that there are restrictions for items such as liquids. For example, perfumes should not be more than 100ml to pass from Doha airport. Finally, the security goal is to keep the airport staff, travelers, and airplanes safe, comfortable, well protected.

Why is airport security important in general and especially today?

Recently airport security becomes striker than it was to provide a high quality of transferring passengers safely, so passenger can feel comfortable during the flight. Passenger has to go through security measures to avoid any hidden explosive device. They have to follow the instruction given to them by the security personnel. For example, if they were asked to be checked manually because of the metal detector alert, they have to accept it. If they are carrying any liqueds, gels, and aerosol more than 100ml, they have to put it in a transparent bag.
