  6. I would like to ensure you that we have an efficient system which Is fully automated, it’s important to us to keep passengers happy and satisfied, I promise you that we will look after your bag. I would like to explain to you the process of baggage handling system.

It’s a system that sorts and moves baggage. Your baggage will be processed in many steps. First, move bags from check in counter where the bags are weighed and to each bags the baggage tag is attached. The baggage tag contains a bar code with information about passenger, flight and destination. This tag is used to identify the bags. It’s read by scanners all along the conveyor belts. Then each bag will be routed to its proper destination.

Finally, your baggage will arrive at the baggage reclaim area where passengers can pick up their checked baggage from this rotating machine which is called carousel.

  7. Baggage handling is the system that sorts and moves passengers baggage. The baggage handling system at an airport starts at the check-in counter where the bags are weight. Baggage handling system has three main jobs, Move the bags from the check-in area to the departure gate and from the gate to another during transfers also from the arrival gate to the baggage-claim area.
    The baggage tag is attached to each piece of luggage during check-in. The baggage tag is contain crucial information which is;
    1-Information about passengers.
2-The bar code on the tag which is read by the scanners in the conveyor system and it is ensuring that each bag is sorted correctly. The code also connects to the passenger information system so that lost bags can be easily reunited.
3-The three letter destination code on the tag can also be double checked by baggage handler.
The automated baggage handling system incorporates some amazing technology to move bags from the check- in counter to the departure gate by automated ways, Destination Coded Vehicles (DCV) carts run on the tracks can load bags without stopping. Then the scanners scan the luggage labels then the conveyor system route the bags to the gate.
Finally, the carousel it is a large rotating machine which displays the unloaded baggage in the reclaim area where the passengers receive their baggage

  9. The process starts at check in counter where the bags are weighed and a baggage tag is attached. This tag is crucial. It is attached to every piece of baggage. This tag also has a bar code which is reading by scanners all along the conveyor system to ensure all bags are sorted correctly. Also by this code we can know passenger’s information so, if a bag is lost, it can be reunited to its owner easily. Most airports in the world deal with fully automated baggage handling system that incorporate DCV’s. In this system there are carts attached on the top of the track to load and unload bags automatically without stopping to ensure the baggage arrive to the aircraft on time. There is conveyor system equipped with junction point which sort bags efficiently and route them to the gate. For double checking before they load the baggage on the plane there is baggage handling personnel. Their responsibility is to check the three letter destination code in the tag. When passengers arrive at their final destination they go to the reclaim area to get their checked baggage. There will find their baggage in a large rotating machine that displays the unloaded baggage in the reclaim area it is called baggage carousel. If the passengers do not find their bags, they can ask baggage handlers for help.

  10. Dear:Miss Deepa.

I well give you some idea a bout the baggage handling. The baggage handling is a system that sorts and moves baggage and it starts at the check in counter.

There are many steps for the baggage handling.First step when you come to the check in counter you have to put the baggage in the conveyor system. The conveyor system consists of moving belts that transport the baggage. The personnel weigh your luggage ti see if it is more than 36 kg.Next the employee attaches the baggage tag to your luggage. The baggage tag is a sticker which gives information about luggage and it is very crucial, because it contains information about the passenger and destination.

After that the baggage goes thruogh the conveyor system. Some airport have a DCV system and it is very high quality and incorporates technology. The luggage goes to the conveyor system to scanner barcode and the baggage tag.The system is equipped with junctions the conveyor sysytem. Also there are sorting machine that sort and route the bags to there destination.

The last place where the luggage arrvies is the reclaim area. The reclaim area is the area where passengers collect luggage. After that the baggage handler doble checks the bags by a scanning device.

I hope you under stand what is the baggage handling and I hope you enjoy travel with your family.

  13. The baggage handling system at airports is very important as the trust and comfort of the travelers depend greatly on it. The system is almost the same in all airports worldwide. When the traveler checks in at the check in counter, his or her baggage is weighed and a baggage tag is attached to every bag. This tag is essential in keeping track of the bag. The tag contains information about the passenger, the destination but most importantly it contains a bar code that is read by scanners during the conveyor system process. The conveyor system is equipped with junctions and sorting machines. These machines read the bar code and route the bags according to their destinations and assure that they are routed correctly. Another check is made by the baggage handling personnel before the bags are loaded on the aircraft. The similar process is followed when the passenger wants to reclaim his or her baggage when they reach their destinations. Passengers find their baggage in a large rotating machine that display the unloaded baggage in the reclaim area called baggage carousel. If the passengers do not find their bags, they can ask baggage handlers for help.

  14. Dear Madam,

I would like to tell you about the baggage handling system at any airport. Baggage handling is the system to move and sort the luggage. This system has many steps.

First step is at check in counter. First, the personnel at the counter check the bags and weigh them. Then, the check in attendant will attach a baggage tag to each bag. This tag is crucial because this tag when move from the scanner, the scanner know the information about the flight and the database from barcode.

Second step, the luggage is moved from the counter by conveyer system. The scanner read the barcode, equiped with junctions and sorting machine that route the bags.

Third step, the baggage also move by conveyer system to reclaim area. This step is crucial because passenger's identify and destination area on the baggage tag.

Final step, passengers take them baggage from claim area.

  16. Task1:

    Dear Madam

Thank you for asking for some help. I would like to promise you that your bag will be handled properly.

Baggage handling is one of the most important processes in the airport. Baggage handlers must be careful about every step. These days this process has become a fully automated system. It starts from the check-in counter, when the check-in personnel attach the baggage tag to your bags. A baggage tag is a small sticker that gives information about your bag and contains a bar code which can be read by scanner to identify the bad. After that the luggage is moved to the aircraft by a conveyor belt. A conveyor belt is a moving rubber belt that transfers the bags from the check-in counter to the aircraft and from the aircraft to the reclaim area. While the luggage is moving on the belt there are some scanners to identify the luggage by reading the bar code and then move it to the right gate from the junction area. If a baggage is late there are some Destination-Code Vehicles which move the bags faster. In the reclaim area, where passengers can get their checked baggage, passengers can pick up their bags from the carousel.

I hope you have a good flight and never lose your baggage again.

  21. Task 1:

    Dear Madam,
Thank you for asking me for help again..
After weighing the bags and attaching the baggage tags to them, they will go onto a moving rubber belt that transports the baggage which is called the conveyor belt. This automated system is supplied with scanners that read the barcode which contains information about the passengers and the destination. Also, the baggage handling system is equipped with junctions and sorting machines that route the bags by cart on tracks to the gate, aircraft, and the last destination respectively. Finally, passengers can pick up their luggage that will be moved via the large rotating machine which called the baggage carousel from the baggage reclaim area. The crucial thing is that passengers do not have to worry about their luggage because the baggage handling system sorts and moves it with scanning the information saved in the barcode about them.

    Task 2:

    1. 2 pieces.
    2. 20 kg
    3. Passengers are not allowed to carry liquids, gels, and aerosels of more than 100ml. Even if the 100ml bottles are not full completely, they are not allowed to put them in the hand bags. Also, these hand bags have to be screened separately. Passengers have to remember the size of the carry-on baggage which is 8inx8in. the last important thing to mention is that baby food are not restricted item and to bring medicine travellers it have to be described by the doctor.
    4. No, but passengers have to bring medical certificate, so they will be allowed to carry the required medicine.
    5. Over 99%.
    6. File a report at the Qatar Airways baggage services counter at your arrival airport.
