An airline ticket is a document, created by an airline or a travel agency to confirm that an individual has purchased a seat on an airplane flight.
What is an E ticket?
A ticket issued electronically and stored in a computer system.
In the past airlines still issued paper ticket. Since June 2008, electronic ticket became mandatory for IATA members.
The advantages of this electronic ticket that is 10% cheaper than the paper ticket. Also it’s very flexible which is can be changed easily, for example you can change the flight also you can refund it and get your money back. It can’t be lost because it’s already stored in the reservation system so you don’t have to worry of losing it. Also it’s very useful for the passengers and the airlines because it saves time and airlines saved a lot of money, it cost only $1 but on the other hand the paper ticket cost $10.
In the future will be a common self serving model where passenger will book purchase and issue their tickets and even boarding passes without any assistance.

The advantages for passengers are cheaper than the usual paper ticket and more convenient and flexibal which means the passengers can change there seats or the date of their flights easily and the passengers dont have to worry about losing their tickets.
The advantages for airlines it saves money and environmentally friendly because there is no need for cutting down the trees.
The disadvantages in e-ticket is redundancy of travel agents which means the airlines will lay off the personnel because they will not need many personnel because every things will be online.
In the future there will be self-service model where passengers will book, purchase and issue their tickets and even boarding passes without any assistance or help.

There are more advantages than disadvantages, passengers can purchase a seat on a flight individually from the internet it’s cheaper, faster and flexible. Also, passengers can change their flight easily they can change the time or the date easily. Moreover, they don’t have to worry of losing the ticket. In addition to this, it is more convenient, they can choose the flight and book in the comfort of their home, they don’t have to go to travel agency and wait in long queues.

It is a ticket that issued electronically and stored in a computer reservation system (CRS) which is used for the reservation of a specific airlines but the (GDS)Global Distribution System used by travel agencies to purchase tickets for customaries on different airlines .
E-ticket has many advantages like when you buy a ticket by computer it will be 10% cheaper than you buy it from an agency .All so it is flexible that you can change it any time and you will not be wary to lose it and you save time that for passengers.
For airlines they will save more many if customers use the reservation system .The airline spend 10$ for issue a ticket by one of their branches but if the customer use the computer system the airline will save 9$ because the e-ticket cost them only 1$.The disadvantage for e-ticket on my opinion is only one that the airlines will reduce their agency and the will fire the employs.
In the future there will be self servicing model where the passengers will purchase their tickets and they will take the boarding passes without any help.

There are advantages of electronic ticket for both passengers and airlines. First of all, the benefit of e-ticket for passenger . Its 10% cheaper than regular ticket. Second its flexible so passengers can change their booking easily without being worry to lose the ticket. Also its more convenient, customers can purchase the ticket when they at home in any time they want. The good thing about e- ticket for both sides airlines and passengers its save time so the customer do not have to wait in long queue. Also it is consider as environmental friendly.
There are some disadvantages of e-tickets. Some websites have some difficulties to use so it is require some knowledge to reserve online. The negative thing of e-ticket it may cause redundancy of travel agency because the machines take over human’s work.
In the future, we will move to Self Serving Model where passengers will book, purchase ,issue their own ticket and even boarding passes without any assistance.

In the past, airlines issued paper tickets for passengers, but now travellers can reserve their tickets throught the reservation system online. Both passengers and airlines are benefit from that computer based system which make their tasks fewer. However, it could be harmful for some individuals.
The electronic ticket is a ticket issued electronically and stored in a computer restriction system. Tickets include many important information including: names of travellers,flight time, and the type of the airplane. These information and more are provided in the receipt that is sended to the passengers mails after booking tickets online. That receipt have to be carried by the travellers on departing day while they are checking-in because it indicates that the passengers funded for the ticket. This reservation system is mandatory from 2008 for IATA members.
Electronic ticketing is useful for passengers and airlines. First, passengers can change some data easily. For example, they can change their seats and the time of the flight. Also, travellers have not to worry about losing their booking because it will be saved in the booking system. Moreover, this service is available at anytime withcheaper prices. Then, airlines will protect the environment by using few amounts of papers. As a result, they will save a lot of money.
Electronic ticketing might be careless for reservation office personnel. Thus, many people will be layed off. In addition, electronic ticketing lead to the redundancy of travel agents from the reservation system.Therefore, each system will have it’s own reservations list.
In the future, there will be self self-serving model which allows passengers to reserve and purchase for the tickets and get their boarding pass from anywhere they are sitting. Also, paper tickets might not be printed any more.

By using this kind of tickets airlines can save a substantial amount of money. This kind of tickets is environmentally friendly. On the other hand, there is a disadvantage for electronic tickets. Some of airport personnel may be laid off from their work.
In the future, passengers may serve themselves and they will book, purchase and issue their tickets online. They will be able to board the plane online or by machines without any help. In short passengers will find it easier to fly by air.

ReplyDeleteOne of the advantages, it's cheaper for both passengers and airlines. It costs one dollar per e-ticket. While, the paper costs ten dollars for each paper. This helped the airlines to save billions of dollars and more importantly it helped also to save a lot of trees because the e ticket is environmentally friendly. Other more advantages, its flexible and more convenient.
On the other hand, the e ticket has some disadvantages. Like, redundancy of travel agents, which means many workers will lose their jobs.
